The service allows customers to conveniently make payments directly to the Mpesa mobile number of the business owner, whom they purchase goods and services from regularly.
Small businesses will be able to separate their business funds and personal funds allowing them to use business transactions to make better business decisions.
The payment once done can’t be reversed without the approval of the business owner.
Pay Bill is primarily meant for situations where the customer has an official relationship with the organization to whom they are making a payment and have an “account number” that helps identify users.
While Pay Bill is often used for remote and e-commerce payments, Buy good and service is meant for immediate purchase of goods and services and these payments are made on site and immediately confirmed.
No relationship between the buyer and the organization or account number is required.

How to use this service
A small business owner will
- dial *334# and Select My Business to opt into the service.
- After opting in, they will be able to see the menu to access their funds under My Business.
A customer making payments to a small business will:
- dial*334#
- Select Lipa na M-PESA
- Select Mobile Number and proceed to make the payment
