The institution was established by His Excellency the second president of Kenya in 1982. It is sponsored by the African Inland Church(AIC) church hence guided on strict Christian principles. Form one candidates are supposed to fill an admission form online. Candidates are then shortlisted based on the schools’ cut-off mark e.g. 350 marks and above. Other forms who want to join Sacho high school are also encouraged to apply and submit their KCPE results and attending to an interview when selected. The admission process is conducted by the curriculum implementation department.
School KCSE performance
Sacho high school is one of the top Kenyan performing schools. The majority of its students do gain direct admission or entry to universities due to excellent performance. The schools’ mean grade is always at 10.12, whereas the least performing candidate attains a mean grade of a C+.
The fee structure
The structure comprises of the parents’ contribution and the government-sponsored funds. The fee structure is in agreement with the ministry of education requirements. Parents are required to pay for a variety of items in the fee structure which include; teaching and learning materials, boarding equipment, repair and maintenance, local transport, administrative costs, activity fees, water and electricity, medical insurance, personnel emolument among others.
The school also provides scholarships for needy students within the county.
Besides academic work, Sacho high schools students engage in different co-curriculum activities such as;
Annual prefects retreat and training- new prefects attend training seminars before kick-starting on their duties whereas outgoing prefects are taken for a retreat outside the schools compound as a reward for a job well job.
Social responsibility- the school as a community participates in;
– Planting of trees for environmental conservation
-Provision of water to surrounding villages
– Food donation to the elderly within their surrounding
-Provision of free medical services in conjunction with the ministry of health
-The school also offers scholarships to needy students within Baringo county
